CITY/STATE | "Police say get back, we say fight back!" chanted about 200 angry protesters outside of Police Headquarters in Lower Manhattan last week. Hundreds of people around the city gathered in six different locations last Wednesday, all furious about the acquittal of three NYPD officers in the shooting death of Sean Bell.

Anacostia Residents Skeptical About District Preservation Grant

Long time Anacostia resident Daa'iyah Pasha applied for a grant from The Historic Homeowners Grant program earlier this year after hearing about the program through her neighborhood civic association.

Pasha, like others in her neighborhood, submitted the two- part grant application in hopes of getting much needed funding for maintenance on her home; a home she had grown up in and inherited, and that had now fallen into disrepair.
